I love finding and playing overlooked games. Those games that have just slipped under the radar because bigger more popular games have came out at the same time. It would be great to hear what awesome hidden gems you guys have played, so I could try them too Wink. My favourites would be

    1. Enslaved. Such a phenomenal game, picked up from the bargain bin by complete chance. None of my gaming friends irl even know about this game which really bothers me as it's one not to be missed.

    2. Rayman Origins. Not enough people are playing this! It can be picked up for like a tenner now so there's no excuse ha-ha.

    3. WET. Didn't hear a lot of good stuff about this game, but i personally loved it. The music was fantastic!

I love finding hidden gems, and there are certainly a lot of them out there that got buried beneath more popular titles, or never really got enough exposure.

This is a bit of an oldie, but Skyblazer for the snes is a wonderful game that I never really heard much about until I got the chance to play it. Think megaman and ninja gaiden smashed together and that's pretty much what you get. It's a lot of fun to play, even though it can get challenging at times.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a hidden gem or not, since it managed to secure a sequel (two in japan I believe), but Chibi Robo is a neat little gamecube game where you play a little robot who cleans a family's house to bring them closer together. It's a lot more fun than it sounds, and can even be a little addicting.

Next up, Odin Sphere for the PS2 is beautiful side scroller with a unique sprited style that you won't really get elsewhere. The environments, characters, and enemies are all breathtaking. Following suit is a game titled Muramasa by the same company; once again it's a side scroller with the same amazing visuals. I wouldn't overlook either of them if you love the genre.

Another gamecube game I've heard is underrated is Eternal Darkness, I recently came across a copy myself, but haven't been able to play a whole lot of it. I've heard the game loves to mess with your head, so I can't wait to get into it.

On the DS I know of a lovely title called 9 Hours, 9 Person, 9 Doors. It's best described as a puzzle game meets choose-your-own adventure. It's a little dark but a lot of fun to go through. I wouldn't pass it up if you own a DS and love a good story.

There are a ton of games I'm forgetting right now, but I'm sure I could think of them if I had the time.

I've heard of WET and Rayman Origins, but I don't think I've heard anything about Enslaved.

great thread, I recently wrote an article about overlooked games that are now in the bargain bin section, games that were underrated and under appreciated:

I might add some of these titles you guys mentioned to Part 2 Smile

I would have to say the Siren series.  These are horror/stealth games where you have to make your way around each level by avoiding or temporarily disabling the undead... not running in guns blazing blowing every zombies head off.  Sometimes you can find a weapon to help you or you may start with a gun but you won't find ammo just lying about. You'll get a few bullets to finish the level and that's it so make each one count.

I also like the ability to look though the eyes of each zombie on a level, learn their search pattern, and figure out how and when you can move and attack to reach the end.  Now, since you play as multiple characters, another unique feature is that the things you do during a level may affect how another character gets to play that same level.

The only reason I bought a PS3 was to download Siren: Blood Curse.  I'm already PO'd about the fact the Siren 2 was translated to English yet never got an NA release.  A great horror series that just never got a chance
